NEW DELHI: The Prime Minister invited Secretaries from key central ministries along with other departments to this high-profile meeting convened in New Delhi. Primarily focusing on improving India's national preparedness on security in this period of growing external and internal Tensions.
The meeting aimed primarily to enhance coordination among various ministries and to ensure that the government is equipped to handle emergencies. He stressed the need for seamless cooperation between departments, institutional resilience, and continued functioning of critical services under all circumstances.
Each ministry informed the PM about its preparedness plans under a "Whole of Government" approach. The major themes were strengthening civil defence systems, combating misinformation, protecting critical infrastructure, and improving internal communication. He instructed officials to conduct in-depth reviews of their emergency protocols and preparedness.
Notables included the Cabinet Secretary and the Secretaries of Defence, Home Affairs, External Affairs, Telephone and Telecommunications, Health, and Power Ministries, evidencing the importance of a united strategy in combating emerging threats.
Meanwhile, India has strengthened defence measures, deploying air defence systems and warships into the Arabian Sea. Active coordination is established between the government and the states to ensure internal security and rapid response mechanisms.
PM Modi reassured citizens of India's readiness by signing off that the government remains on full alert and is taking all necessary measures to protect the country.
